Sub: Requisition for an emergent meeting of the DUTA Executive to decide action programme at VC’s office against arbitrary functioning and official apathy of the university administration.
With deep sense of shock and concern, we, the undersigned members of DUTA Executive and Academic Council, bring to your notice the following:
- The Vice-Chancellor, in complete contravention of University ordinances and the DUTA resolution, has brought back the ill-conceived semester system at undergraduate level as an agenda item for the scheduled meeting of Academic Council on Friday, March 20. We are apprehensive that he will succeed in pushing through this insidious scheme in the AC by using his brute majority and that will create havoc in the University system. We request you to immediately convene an emergent meeting of the DUTA Executive to decide on an action programme in order to stall this nefarious design of the Vice-Chancellor.
- We would like to inform you that the teachers in the University departments have not yet got their revised salary and arrears owing to the inefficiency of both the UGC and the University administration. The absence of fitment table has allowed the university to use it as an excuse for not releasing the payment, thus creating resentment and agitation among teachers.
In the light of the above-mentioned violations, we urge you to decide on an action programme for the early redressal of these issues.
