Ved Gupta (1941-1996) was a founder member of the DTF. He spent three decades in the teaching profession of which he taught for around 25 years in the Department of Political Science, Zakir Husain College. He was a long-standing and committed activist of the democratic movement in the Delhi University and outside. His selfless dedication to social change, his role in the struggle against the Emergency and then against communalism attracted many young people to the democratic movement.
