DTF members urge action by DUTA to stop VC’s move to push through semester system
To
The President,
DUTA
Subject: Forthcoming meeting of the Academic Council on 5.06.2009
Dear Mr. Mishra,
As you would remember, the undersigned members of the DUTA Executive had requisitioned the meeting of the DUTA Executive towards the end of 2008 to discuss and decide to oppose the nefarious designs of Prof. Pental to introduce the ill conceived semester system at the undergraduate levels. In the subsequent meeting of the Academic Council, following the decision of the DUTA Executive, the AC members had successfully stalled the meeting and the attempt of the VC to push through the semester system failed. The undersigned had again requested you in writing on 16th of March, 2009 to call a meeting of the DUTA Executive as the Vice Chancellor had called the meeting of the Academic Council on 20th of March, 2009 to once again push through the semester system disregarding the majority opinion of the teaching community. The Academic Council members were briefed before the AC meeting and the Vice Chancellor once again failed in the face of united opposition inside the AC meeting.
As you are aware, the meeting of the Academic Council has once again been called on 5/6/2009. It is clear from the agenda that the VC is hell-bent to introduce the semester system at the undergraduate level.
You are, therefore, requested to take the note of the impending developments and do the needful so that the ill conceived design of the VC is once again defeated.
Signed
