Subject: Review the modalities of 200 point Reservation Roster
adopted by the Executive Council in its meeting held on 28 September 2013
Dear Professor Singh,
The UGC, through its letters dated 11 June 2014 and 1 July 2014, has asked the University to withdraw the counter affidavit filed in the W.P. No 803/2014 in the High Court as it is not in conformity with the policy of the Govt. of India. It is pertinent that the University should withdraw this counter affidavit and take the further consequential steps on the issue.
The counter affidavit filed by Delhi University was in support of the modalities adopted in the EC meeting on 28 September 2013 for the implementation of 200 point reservation roster. In view of the UGC letter, the University should now review these modalities on urgent basis and ensure that modalities that are in conformity with the policy of the Govt. of India are put in place. This is a matter of the utmost urgency since a very large number of appointments have to be made.
I urge you to take up the matter on priority basis as appointments should be made as per a correct reservation roster in order to prevent chaos and uncertainty for young colleagues and the University itself.
Yours sincerely,
Abha Dev Habib
Member, Executive Council
