Oppose Draft New Education Policy
DUTA movement against 30-70 funding formula
The DUTA, under the leadership of Rajib Ray, led an intense movement in 2018 against decrease in public funding towards implementation of 7 CPC. The 30-70 funding formula required institutions to generate 30% of the increased spending towards implementation of 7th CPC. This would have led to manifold increase in students’ fees.

शिक्षा में सार्वजनिक निधि के इस्तेमाल और सामाजिक न्याय की मज़बूती के लिए किए जाने वाले संघर्षों में हमेशा आगे रहनेवाले शिक्षक संगठन डेमोक्रेटिक टीचर्स फ़्रंट (डीटीएफ) ने इस बार डूटा (DUTA) के अध्यक्ष पद के लिए फिर से वर्तमान डूटा और फ़ेडकूटा (FEDCUTA) के अध्यक्ष राजीब रे को खड़ा किया है। डीटीएफ ने डूटा कार्यकारिणी के लिए भी युवा जोश और अनुभव दोनों गुणों से संपन्न चार प्रतिबद्ध लोगों को खड़ा किया है।
Elect Rajib Ray as DUTA President
The Democratic Teachers’ Front (DTF), a leading teachers’ organisation at the forefront of struggles for the strengthening of public-funded education and social justice, is fielding Rajib Ray, the current DUTA and FEDCUTA President Rajib Ray for a second term for the post of DUTA President. The DTF has also fielded a panel of four committed activists, a mix of experienced and youthful activism, for the elections to the DUTA Executive.

The assault on public education best described in Shri Javadekar’s words as the Government “striving to introduce a liberalized regime in the education sector” is a big step toward completing the task of the Narsimha Rao Government that ushered in the Liberalization-Privatisation-Globalization regime. This is the context in which teachers have to view the assault on their lives and livelihood and undermining of dialogue and engagement with the collective body of teachers.
Pitting the Government Identified EWS against Public Funded Higher Education
Unless public attention remains focused, the opportunistic use of reservation policy by the Union Government can do immeasurable harm to standards of education in public funded higher educational institutions.
